BOOK LAUNCH: SHAKESPEARE AND VENICE

We are profoundly grateful to the Mekhitarist Fathers of Venice for the exclusive publication of Bazmavep volume comprising essays from the Third Conference of Armenian Shakespeare Association at Moorat-Raphael College in Venice. It includes essays from Shakespeare scholars from South America, USA, Poland, Serbia, France, China, India, UK, Italy, etc.

Our deepest gratitude to editors, Kyle diRoberto (USA) and Lisa Hopkins (UK).

The volume was dedicated to late scholar, author and wonderful human being Peter Billingham (1952-2020), one of the keynote speakers of the Venice conference.

The book launch was held at Hayashen CAIA, London on 28 November 2021 with Sheila Cavanagh, Lisa Hopkins and Jasmine Seymour.

Acknowledgements

The Armenian Shakespeare Association would like to thank Archbishop Dr. Boghos Levon Zekyan for agreeing to hold our third Shakespeare Conference in this historic building, once housing the celebrated Armenian Moorat-Raphael College in Venice. Our gratitude to Father Hamazasp Kechichian for the organisation work and for the splendid tour of the San Lazzaro museum and church. Special thanks to Father Serop Jamourlian for his warm opening remarks and for his generous offer to publish the present volume in Bazmavep, the oldest Armenian periodical, which is a great honour.
